Dr. Dietze's Personal Statement

My interest in vision began at an early age during elementary school when I was taken to our local ophthalmologist and he discovered I needed glasses.  He was a gentle caring soul and I was amazed at how clear now I could see!

Growing up, I enjoyed science, and biology, and always was curious about how eyes "worked".  That interest eventually translated into a Pre-Med/Zoology major in college, medical school, internship, ophthalmology residency and corneal fellowship.

My interest in ophthalmology has only continued to climb as the technology aspect of the field has exploded.  I was fortunate to perform the first laser vision correction procedure in Corpus Christi many years ago.  Just last year, my partners and I acquired a new femtosecond laser to perform laser assisted cataract surgery.  This again was a first for the area, and the fifth such laser in the state of Texas.

Our philosophy, has been, and always will be, to take excellent care of our patients with the latest technology available.
