When it comes to your vision, choosing an experienced surgeon who is skilled in advanced technologies is your firmest reassurance of excellent outcomes.

At South Texas Eye Consultants, we provide custom blade-free iLASIK in Corpus Christi, TX with the following technologies:

  1. CustomVue technology
  2. IntraLase™ femtosecond laser
  3. VISX Star S4™ IR excimer laser

Technology 1: Detailed Eye Analysis

Prior to your procedure, we take a Wavefront analysis of your eyes. This is the “custom” portion of the procedure because it allows our doctors to create a detailed 3-D “fingerprint” of your eyes to create a precisely tailored treatment plan for each unique eye. Not all LASIK centers incorporate this technology, but we do not take the “one-size-fits-all” approach to LASIK.

Technology 2: The Corneal Flap

The IntraLase femtosecond laser replaces the earlier hand-held blade method of creating the corneal flap. This is often referred to as all-laser iLASIK in Corpus Christi, TX. Benefits of the laser over the manual method include:

  • Increased safety
  • Greater precision
  • Improved results

Technology 3: Corneal Reshaping

The VISX Star S4™ IR excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea to microscopic specifications. This treatment is based on the earlier 3-D Wavefront image. Benefits of this laser include:

  • Iris Recognition (IR) is incorporated to keep your eye stabilized during the procedure, even if you have uncontrollable eye twitches
  • Increased chance of achieving 20/20 vision – or even better
  • Decreased risk of having complications such as nighttime glare or halos
  • Opportunity to treat a wider range of higher-order aberrations

The entire process takes 15-20 minutes to complete and is virtually painless for most patients. Our doctors have found that these two laser systems combined withWavefront analysis provide the very best vision results possible. In fact, a majority of our iLASIK patients achieve 20/20 vision or better after their procedure.
